The contents and entries of these posts mainly refer to the Cascina Manzoni. The house is not completely finished yet, it still needs a major renovation which will be divided into three projects. The main part with the three flats is already finished (see picture below). So don't worry, if you book, you will receive the flat in fully renovated condition. I would like to give a monthly update on the renovation work here in this blog and accompany it with corresponding pictures and video material.
Opening and the prices
Work is expected to start on 02 February 2025. The opening of Cascina Manzoni will be on 2 March 2025, but the construction work will not yet be completed and therefore each flat will be offered at a reduced price. The ‘Abbraccio Caldo’ flat can be shared by a maximum of 4 people and the ‘Gioco di Luce’ flat can accommodate a maximum of three people. The ‘Vino e Grappe’ flat can accommodate a maximum of 2 people. Additional persons will be charged 50 euros per person.
1 Project: My private premises
As the host, I personally live in the lowest flat ‘Vino e Grappa’ of Cascina Manzoni for the time being, so the first project concerns my private rooms. I assume that my part will be finished by the end of June 2025. As soon as the completion date is finalized, the third flat will also be online and bookable.
2nd project: Common room
The second project, the barn, is being turned into a large communal space with lounges, a large table, bookshelves, a fireplace and a pool table. The idea is to create a meeting area where people can get to know each other or simply enjoy the beautiful view with a glass of wine. This space is also ideal for business or cultural events, such as workshops, lectures, exhibitions or why not hold a concert on a smaller scale. No further flats are planned for the conversion. It is extremely important to me that the Cascina Manzoni does not become overcrowded with too many guests and that guests can no longer enjoy the peace and quiet.
3rd project: Car park
The last project concerns the new car park. At the moment, cars are parked in front of the building, which robs guests of additional space and freedom. It is also a pity for the aesthetics of the building. During the renovation, guests have the option of using the second entrance above the pool and can park their car there. This is a great way to avoid the construction site and the thick walls of the building provide good noise protection.
I am very much looking forward to the upcoming projects and have great confidence in the people involved in making the Cascina Manzoni a unique place.
